JOB DESCRIPTION

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the development and execution of multi-year strategic business plans for product lines, targeting and realizing sustainable sales growth and profitability improvements. Aligns product line plans within the business unit's overall strategic plan.
Effectively presents and communicates strategic business plans cross functionally to other managers in the organization.
Forms and maintains strategic relationships with key suppliers to maximize sales growth and profitability improvement. Conducts productive supplier meetings to facilitate collaboration, problem solving, business planning, troubleshooting etc.
Manages all aspects of P&L for product line to maximize sales growth and drive bottom line profitability improvements
Manages team to drive supply chain cost reductions for product lines by working with suppliers and company fulfillment centers in areas such as packaging, PO identification, item labeling, product identification and quality etc.
Leads both global and domestic key supplier negotiations including but not limited to acquisition costs, terms, rebates, supplier agreements, product rationalizations, field support etc. Guides Product managers on effective negotiation skills and strategies.
Develops effective product line merchandising and promotional strategies for multiple market channels, catalogs, brands, E-Comm and geographic locations. Manages Merchandise mgrs and brochure managers on implementation of strategies within production timelines.
Develops product line sell price strategy in line with management guidelines and works with field sales on a discount strategy for the product line. Prices and positions products relative to market opportunities and competition.
Drives the expansion of product lines and product line innovation/services to ensure high customer value, market share gain and net profitability improvement.
Responsible for effectively managing key product line metrics including but not limited to sales growth, gross margin, fill rate, inventory turns, new item performance, co-op contribution, catalog page performance, supplier operational performance, operating expenses, return on assets etc.
Works closely with the Field Sales teams on product line selling strategies, discounting guidelines, training initiatives, field sales support from suppliers and more.
Develops fiscal plans and reports monthly on the progress of the entire product line budget.
Identifies opportunities for private brand expansion through competitive analysis and market research. Develops and executes brand plans inclusive of but not limited to product positioning, price/discount strategies, assortment planning, souring requirements, packaging, patent review, sales and marketing campaigns etc.
Drives cross functional improvements within own area as well as coordination of successful execution of these opportunities with Sales, Marketing, DistributionCenters, Accounting, Advertising and any other key areas.
Performs all duties inherent in the role of a Product Manager including hiring, termination, review and development of associates.
Drives the company Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of vision and fulfillment of companie's mission.
Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
