Position Overview:
The Logistics Sr. Category Manager is responsible for leading the deployment and execution of the assigned mode strategy (TL, LTL, flatbed, ocean, intermodal, domestic and international air, and freight forwarding) for the Company. He / she will lead multiple transportation procurement programs and projects, while working with cross-functional teams and standard work to build and execute project implementation plans for productivity and continuous improvement. He / she will lead procurement program activities to assure readiness for pre-pilot, pilot, and full deployment, and partner with functional teams across Ingersoll Rand business units to assist with project charters, benefits, and resource requirements. The Sr. Category Manager will be responsible for monitoring active projects, updating status, eliminating roadblocks, and escalating issues as appropriate, as well as investigating, coordinating, and communicating project changes. He / she will identify gaps to goals and collaboratively develop and support countermeasures and activities to close the gap and exceed targets. The Sr. Category Manager will be responsible for leading and executing supplier rationalization, quality, delivery and cost improvement projects within the assigned mode, and will work to align strategies across business units and with the Enterprise.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing category transportation spend and multiple transportation procurement projects.
Will drive quality delivery, cost, lead time and inventory improvements.
Will work with cross-functional teams to build and execute project implementation plans for productivity and continuous improvement projects.
Responsible for coordinating with materials, operations, engineering, finance, quality, and field operations to complete projects and achieve expected benefits within project timeline.
Will partner with teams to assist with projects charter, benefits, and resource requirements. Will be an active participant in business unit productivity gate reviews ensuring required cross-functional resources are allocated to execute projects as outlined.
Responsible for monitoring active projects, updating status, eliminating roadblocks, and escalating issues as appropriate, as well as investigating, coordinating, and communicating project changes. Create and conduct presentations for project approvals and monthly status.
Identify gaps to goals and collaboratively develop and support countermeasures and activities to close the gap and exceed targets.
Manage reporting of financial metrics (forecast and actual) and support the development of the Annual Operating Plan for productivity projects, targets and initiatives
Coordinate continuous improvement ideation sessions and generate and evaluate new ideas and opportunities aligned with business unit priorities and strategies.
Qualifications:
BA/BS/ME degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or Business with a minimum of 3 years of project management experience
7-13 years of experience in Transportation Procurement with demonstrated results in contract management, negotiations, and execution of the category strategy; Specific experience sought for all major modes (TL, LTL, flatbed, ocean, intermodal, domestic and internal air, and freight forwarding)
Experience in international transportation procurement desired
Demonstrated success with transformation change management, problem solving and process thinking
Must be comfortable managing in an ambiguous environment, capable of smart risk taking with ability to close
Must be a strategic thinker and have demonstrated experience driving strategies
Microsoft Project Expertise or similar required
Experience running large complex cross functional projects
Global project management required
Oracle experience in a global environment desired
Ability to travel up to 40%

Relationship Management - Creates collaborative environment with cross-functional partners, assures regular/appropriate two-way communication flow, builds/maintains relationship with industry peers and suppliers, and reinforces "one IR voice" to the supply base.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
